The U. S. Census will be taken in April 2010. SISD is partnering with Nolan County to keep our citizens informed. We want everyone to be aware of the importance of an accurate, timely count. Please read on for more details.
The Census form will be much simpler than those in past years. There will only be ten questions, taking approximately ten minutes to complete. We encourage everyone to take a few minutes to fill out the form and return it by mail, immediately upon receiving it. The data from the Census will be used to determine congressional boundaries, allocate grants and define population trends, along with other uses. For more information, please use the following link to the 2010 Census website. 2010 Census Website

Following the last Pep Rally of the year, Tracey Smola, Sweetwater ISD Coordinator for District Testing and Special Programs, presented the SISD Funderwear to Sweetwater High School team members Troy Bohannon and Walter Blueford.
They are the third recipients this school year of the Funderwear given to Sweetwater ISD Superintendent, Mr. Terry Pittman, by motivational speaker Randy Snow. Seven employees were honored with the presentation last school year. Troy and Walter were nominated by numerous team members who notice and appreciate their willingness to do whatever it takes. Many times Troy and Walter are the last SISD employees still working after a late night event. And they will also be the first ones at Sweetwater High School the next morning getting ready for the students to arrive. In both cases, they still have a positive attitude, energy to spare and a smile on their face. Without hesitation, they are ready to do whatever needs to be done. Mr. Pittman said, βIt was given to these staff members that have gone above and beyond, shown a great attitude and exemplify the spirit we want to shine in SISD β Whatever it Takes!β Pictured during the Funderwear Presentation is (l to r) Tracey Smola, Troy Bohannon, Walter Blueford, SHS Principal Chris Wigington and SISD Superintendent Mr. Terry Pittman.
The Newman family was recently honored at Mustang Bowl. A permanent marker was placed at the Bowl to thank the Newman family for the donation of land upon which Mustang Bowl stands. For the complete story with photos, please click on this link.
